Raiders re-sign QB Chase Garbers after releasing him six days ago

It hasn’t even been a week since the Raiders released quarterback Chase Garbers. The team officially waived him on July 26 as they were set to kick off training camp. Six days later, he is back.

According to his agent Ira Turner, Garbers is back with the Raiders on a one-year deal. Garbers is the fourth quarterback on the depth chart behind Jimmy Garoppolo, Brian Hoyer, and Aidan O’Connell.

The Raiders initially signed Garbers as a UDFA from California. During his four-year college career, Garbers threw for 6,580 yards and 50 touchdowns. He bounced on and off the roster last year as the No. 3 quarterback and is hoping to beat out Hoyer or O’Connell for that job this year.
