The Raiders are a top-loaded team with several big-time superstars. Two of their top players are extremely young as Josh Jacobs and Maxx Crosby are both 25 years old. You will be hard-pressed to find a better duo in the league with their type of production at their ages.
Crosby turns 26 later this month, while Jacobs turned 25 in February. That means he’ll play the entire 2023 season at age 25. That’s already after racking up nearly 6,000 yards in the first four years of his career.
In a recent article by The Athletic, they ranked the top 25 players that are 25 and younger heading into the 2023 NFL season. That list included Jacobs, who comes in at No. 17. Here is a snippet of what the site had to say about the All-Pro running back:
Boasting a league-leading 1,653 rushing yards last season, Jacobs recorded his third 1,000-yard campaign in four years. He also produced as a receiver out of the backfield with 53 catches for 400 yards and 16 first downs. All of that wasn’t enough to convince the Raiders to give Jacobs an extension. Instead, they tagged him, and thus far, Jacobs hasn’t signed and hasn’t reported for training camp.
Jacobs is arguably the best running back in the NFL and is in the prime of his career. The Raiders need him to have a balanced offense and the hope is that he’ll be ready to go by Week 1. Because he’s one of the most productive players in the NFL despite being only 25 years old.
