Raiders RB Josh Jacobs named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

You knew it was coming. After a 303-yard performance in Week 12, Josh Jacobs was named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Not only did he go over 300 total yards, but he also scored the game-winning touchdown from 86 yards out. He also scored another touchdown in this game, making the selection pretty easy for voters.

This is the first time in Jacobs’ career that he’s been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He was named the Rookie of the Week back in 2019, but he has never won this specific award.

This was one of the best performances you will ever see by a running back as Jacobs carried the team on his back to help them get the win. To make this feat even more impressive, there were some legitimate concerns about his ability to play in this game due to a calf injury that he suffered later in the week.

Through Week 12, Jacobs leads the NFL in rushing yards and total yards from scrimmage. If the season ended today, he would be a unanimous All-Pro selection and a Pro Bowler.
