The best player for the Raiders through five games has undoubtedly been Josh Jacobs. He is currently the No. 3 ranked running back in the league, according to Pro Football Focus, and just set a career-high in rushing yards in Week 5.
Through five weeks, Jacobs has totaled 619 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. But it’s his play over the last three weeks that has been the most impressive. In his last three contests, he’s totaled 465 yards, averaging nearly 5.9 yards per carry.
According to Pro Football Focus, only Nick Chubb and Dameon Peirce have forced more missed tackles than Jacobs through the first five weeks of the season.

There was some doubt about his role entering the season as the Raiders were expected to use a running back by committee approach. That hasn’t been the case at all as Jacobs had a combined 59 touches over the last two weeks.
Jacobs is playing the best football of his career and he’s helped carry the offense so far this season. If he continues to play at this level for the next few months, the Raiders will certainly get back on track in no time.
