Josh Jacobs has always been thought of as one of the more effective and efficient backs in the NFL. He’s routinely graded out as a top-five running back in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
But Jacobs had his best season to date in 2022, leading the NFL in rushing yards (1,653) and yards from scrimmage (2,053). So it’s not surprising that he ended up being the highest-graded running back at PFF. He finished the year with a grade of 91.6, just ahead of Nick Chubb at 90.3.

The Raiders have a big decision to make with Jacobs over the next few months. Jacobs is set to hit free agency, coming off the best season of his career. The Raiders declined his fifth-year option last offseason, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want him to return.
There is going to be a lot of change for the Raiders over the next few months, but Jacobs is a player that they will want to keep around. Don’t be surprised if they wind up getting a deal done before free agency opens in March.
