Jimmy Garoppolo has already missed two starts this season and there is a chance that he could miss another in Week 8. After suffering a back injury against the Patriots, he missed the team’s Week 7 game against the Bears.
However, the expectation all week was that his absence wouldn’t be a long one and that he would return to the lineup soon. But that doesn’t guarantee that he’ll be ready for Week 8 when the Raiders travel to Detriot to take on the Lions on Monday Night Football.
In a recent article by Dan Graziano of ESPN, he revealed that Garopplo still isn’t ready to practice after suffering a back injury in Week 6. Here is what the NFL insider had to say about the franchise quarterback of the Raiders:
The Raiders are hopeful of getting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo back from his back injury in time for Monday night’s game in Detroit, but as of Tuesday he had yet to be medically cleared to return to practice.
If Garoppolo can’t go, expect the Raiders to start Aidan O’Connell in his place. Brian Hoyer could not keep the offense on track last week and turned the ball over too many times. O’Connell started one game already this season (Week 5 vs. Chargers) and should get the nod here again if Garoppolo is unable to practice.
