On a day when they were without Josh Jacobs and Michael Mayers, the Raiders got their biggest win of the season. They did not compete a single pass after the first quarter and still managed to defeat the Chiefs in Kansas City 20-14 in a stunning upset.
The defense was the reason the Raiders won this game, forcing two turnovers that were returned for touchdowns. Not only did they create turnovers, but they did a fantastic job of containing Patrick Mahomes and the offense of the Chiefs. They held the Chiefs to just 13 points and got multiple fourth-down stops.
The Raiders are now 4-3 in the Antonio Pierce era and his win against the Chiefs was the biggest one yet. The Raiders now sit at 7-8 on the season and still have an outside chance of making the postseason if they win out.
The playoffs are still a bit of a pipe dream for Las Vegas, but the franchise is heading in the right direction with Pierce. They’ve played some of the best football of the year in December and have now won back-to-back AFC West games. Kudos to Pierce and his team for turning their season around.
