After back-to-back wins to start the Antonio Pierce era, the Raiders have now lost three straight games and have a record of 5-8. With four games to go, it’s fair to wonder if the Raiders will even win another game with their remaining schedule.
You play to win the game, but the franchise might be in better shape long-term if they can secure a top pick in next year’s draft. It’s clear that the Raiders need a quarterback and this is a top-heavy draft when it comes to that position.
According to Tankathon, the Raiders have moved up to No. 8 after their Week 14 loss to the Vikings. There still could be some movement in the top 10 with the Titans (4-8) and the Giants (4-8) playing on Monday Night Football, but things are trending towards the Raiders having another top-ten pick.
If the Raiders finish the 2023 season with a record of 5-12 or 6-11, it’s very likely that they will be picking inside the top seven selections. But any more wins might push them out of range to select a quarterback. Now that their playoff dreams have been dashed, it’s time to look forward to the draft once again.
