The Antonio Piece era is off to a fantastic start. The Raiders are 2-0 under Pierce, winning back-to-back games at home for the first time this season. It wasn’t pretty, but the Raiders got a much-needed 16-12 win over the Jets to get back to .500.
This game was a slobber knocker for the first three quarters. The first and only touchdown was scored by Michael Mayer on a ridiculous catch in the end zone. That gave the Raiders a 16-9 lead before the Jets eventually answered with another field goal.
The play of the game was made by Robert Spillane, who intercepted Zach Wilson near the red zone under the two-minute warning. He undercut a route intended for Garrett Wilson and was able to make the play on the football to win the game. It was a massive play for the defense to make a stand when they absolutely needed it.
The Raiders will travel to Miami to take the Dolphins in Week 11. It’ll be the first road game for Antonio Pierce and his new coaching staff. With a win on Sunday, the Raiders will be over .500 and will have a great chance of making a playoff push.
