The Raiders opened up the 2022 season against the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. But unlike their Week 18 game against the Chargers, the Raiders were unable to get it done here in Week 1.
It was not a strong day for Derek Carr, who threw three interceptions and took five sacks. Carr also had two fumbles and never seemed completely comfortable in the pocket.
Davante Adams had a huge Week 1 performance, catching 10 passes for 141 yards and one touchdown. He could have had an even bigger day, but Carr missed him down the field a few times. While the Raiders were unable to get the win, it’s clear that Adams fits in incredibly well in Josh McDaniel’s offense.
The Raiders will play at home in Week 2, hosting the Arizona Cardinals. With the Chargers and Chiefs both winning in Week 1, they’ll need to win that game in order to not fall too far behind in the division this early.
