It’s hard not to be disappointed about the slow development of Tyree Wilson so far. The No. 7 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft just hasn’t made much of an impact this year and his snaps continue to decrease as the season progresses.
However, the Raiders haven’t had an issue creating pass rush opposite of Maxx Crosby. And that’s because they have an emerging star in Malcolm Koonce.
According to Pro Football Focus, Koonce led the team in pressures (5) and hurries (5). He’s recorded at least four pressures in three straight games and finished as the second-highest-graded EDGE rusher in the NFL this week.

During the first two years of his career, Koonce recorded a combined six pressures. Now, he’s one of the most productive EDGE rushers in the NFL on a per-snap basis. He deserves to get more looks as the season goes on, considering how well he’s played this year.
