With just ten days before the NFL roster cutdown from 90 to 53 players, the Raiders made a move today, claiming former Panthers LB Jackson Mitchell off waivers.
Mitchell is an undrafted rookie out of UConn who the Panthers waived on Friday.
As a Senior last season, Mitchell led the Huskies in tackles, racking up 113 combined tackles, seven for a loss. His 9.4 tackles per game was the 19th most in FBS.
Mitchell earned All-New England honors for the third-straight season last year and was invited to both the Hula Bowl and the East-East Shrine Bowl.
