In-form Canberra prop Joe Tapine says he'll let his footy do the talking as clubs circle for the star's signature for the 2024 NRL season.
Tapine's contract is up in 2023, meaning he can negotiate with other teams from November 1, with media recently reporting seven clubs had expressed interest in signing him as he continues his outstanding year.
The 136-game Raider has been in imperious touch and is the league's No.1-ranked player for post-contact metres (1109m) and the top-ranked forward in all running metres (2605m).
Tapine said a new contract was far from the front of his mind.
"I haven't really talked about it to be honest," he told reporters.
"I'm just trying to focus on footy. Obviously it's got to wait for November or whatever happens so I haven't really talked too much about that so far."
Asked if he saw himself as a long-term Raider, Tapine said he had some thinking to do.
"That's the decision I've got to have with my wife, and I'll have conversations with 'Stick' (Canberra coach Ricky Stuart) and everyone else around that," he said.
"I'm gonna try to do my job and ... do the same stuff I do every week, and keep that consistency for the rest of the year."
It's one of a number of intriguing off-season decisions awaiting Canberra, with a summer of big changes potentially on the cards.
Star five-eighth Jack Wighton has player options on his contract for both 2023 and 2024, while emerging fullback Xavier Savage and veteran winger Jordan Rapana can both negotiate with other clubs from Novermber 1.
Fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (NZ Warriors), hooker Josh Hodgson (Parramatta) and forwards Adam Elliott (Newcastle) and Ryan Sutton (Canterbury) have all agreed to join other clubs.
