New Delhi: Lok Sabha LoP and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will address Samvidhan Samman Sammelan in Ranchi on Saturday.
The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly elections on Tuesday.
The 81-seat Jharkhand Assembly is going to elections November 13 and 20 while Maharashtra will go in for a single-phase election on November 20, the ECI said.
A total of 2.60 crore voters are eligible to cast votes in Jharkhand and there are 1.31 crore male and 1.29 crore female voters. The state has 11.84 lakh first-time voters.
Votes will be counted in the two states on November 23.

Earlier, the Congress party appointed BK Hariprasad, Gaurav Gogoi, and Mohan Markam as senior coordinators for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections.
AICC Senior Coordinators appointed
"Hon'ble Congress President has appointed the following leaders as AICC Senior Coordinators for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand with immediate effect," read a notice by the party, signed by General Secretary of Organisation KC Venugopal.
BK Hariprasad is a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council and a former Rajya Sabha MP. Gaurav Gogoi is the Deputy leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha. He represents the Jorhat constituency. Mohan Markam is a former minister in the Chhattisgarh government and the former President of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee from June 2019 to July 2023. He represented the Kondagaon assembly constituency.
Currently, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is the single largest and ruling party in the state, being represented by 30 MLAs. Bharatiya Janata Party has 25 MLAs while Congress has 16.

Congress and JMM have announced their alliance for the polls, with seat sharing being finalized soon.
Earlier, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had hit out at the BJP, claiming that the party had looted the state for over 20 years.

"In December 2019, with the blessings of the great people of Jharkhand, I took over the reins of the state. My sole purpose was to irrigate the tree of Jharkhand and strengthen its roots. The BJP had looted this tree with both hands for 20 years. It had dried it up," said Soren in a post on X.
He also highlighted completing 100 days of being out of jail and taking charge as CM again.
"Today marks 100 days since he returned from jail and took charge of the state. Also, yesterday the Election Commission announced assembly elections in Jharkhand," he added. (with agency inputs)
