New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a fresh attack at the Narendra Modi-led government over various issues related to the farmers. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of unleashing 'atrocities' on them.

In a tweet in Hindi, Rahul wrote: "PM's 'farmers harassment scheme': No compensation to martyr farmers ; no data on farmers suicide; waived off 'friends' debt, but not farmers; false promise on Minimum Support Price. Benefitted insurance companies of Rs 40,000 crore in the name of Fasal Bima.'
Taking a dig at the ruling BJP over doubling farmers income by 2022, the former Congress president said, "Double farmers income by 2022, but has doubled the harassment."
The Congress has been accusing the ruling dispensation of failing to address the farmers issues, including MSP for a long time. (with Agency inputs)
