Raheem Sterling confirms City exit
Raheem Sterling has referenced his 'ups and downs' as a Manchester City player in a farewell message ahead of his transfer to Chelsea.
Sterling has called time on his City career after 337 appearances, and he will join Chelsea this summer in a move costing around £50m. City have added Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, meaning Sterling's chances of playing time would have been limited next season.
Confirming his City exit, hours before Chelsea officially announced his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Sterling said he is a stronger person for the harder periods of the last seven years, as he paid tribute to his teammates, coaches and supporters at the Etihad.
City to learn Kalidou Koulibaly future
After three years of endless speculation, Kalidou Koulibaly finally looks set for a transfer to the Premier League - but not to Manchester.
Linked with both Manchester City and Manchester United in recent summers, Koulibaly has become almost a mythical centre-back for both clubs. Given so much hype, predominantly by Italian media, that he was presented as the player guaranteed to fix the centre-back issues of both Manchester clubs.
However, in 2019, United signed Harry Maguire and City did not consider Koulibaly to replace Vincent Kompany. A year later, and Koulibaly was a target, but Napoli insisted on a high price, so the Blues worked behind the scenes to sign Ruben Dias instead.
Chelsea's Reece James dampens transfer links
While Chelsea's pursuit of Manchester City stars appears to be progressing, any City's efforts to bring players the other way from Stamford Bridge are yet to bear fruit.
City's Premier League rivals are on the verge of announcing the £47.5m capture of Raheem Sterling from City, after the two clubs reached a deal and Sterling agreed to personal terms.
Chelsea are also interested in making Nathan Ake their second signing from City of the summer, with the Dutch international believed to be keen on returning to his former club in order to play more minutes than he does at the Etihad Stadium. And Chelsea's Reece James has addressed rumours suggesting he could leave Stamford Bridge, amid City links.
