Liverpool’s latest transfer rumour has seen them linked with one player they are used to facing in the Premier League.
The Reds have been credited with an interest in Chelsea star Mason Mount. The 23-year-old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, with speculation increasing over his future.
According to a report in The Guardian, Liverpool are 'keeping track' of Mount’s contract talks with Chelsea, with a view to a potential move. Italian giants Juventus have also been mentioned in the same report as showing an interest in the midfielder.

It has also been claimed that the decision to put contract talks between Chelsea and Mount on hold until after the World Cup has alerted Liverpool. The article states that the Reds, who are in the market for midfield reinforcements, are keeping an eye on how things develop with Mount’s future.
With Mount being the latest player to be linked with a move to Liverpool, one player who has played for both the Reds and Chelsea has provided their verdict on the player. Raheem Sterling left Anfield in 2015 for Manchester City before spending seven years at the Etihad Stadium until he moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Sterling made 129 appearances for Liverpool, and is now a team-mate for Mount for both club and country. Speaking earlier this week, the 27-year-old has explained why Mount has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in Europe.
"Mason, another top trainer, and a player that’s got a high potential ceiling,” Sterling told GQ Sport . “A player that’s been producing for Chelsea and with the national team.
"He is a player that we are definitely going to need in the future because he has all the qualities to be one of the very best midfielders.”
