Two RAF Chinook helicopters were seen hovering over St James' Park as they flew low over Newcastle on Wednesday afternoon.
The pair of helicopters made for a striking sight and created a loud noise as they flew over the city centre's skyline at around 3pm on November 9, attracting a large amount of attention from members of the public below.
The chinook helicopters spent time hovering over St James' Park and appeared to land near Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary before leaving again. Members of the public in South Shields and Seaham also spotted the aircraft as they flew along the coast.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the two helicopters were from RAF Odiham in Hampshire and had been carrying out routine training.
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "A pair of RAF Chinook helicopters from 18 Squadron from RAF Odiham undertook essential routine training on November 9 which included the North East. Such training ensures that our crews continue to be ready for global operations."
