A radio DJ died while presenting his breakfast show, his station has said.
Tim Gough, 55, was an hour into his broadcast when the music stopped half way through a song.
The music resumed a few minutes later but the presenter did not return to his show.
Broadcaster GenX Radio Suffolk later confirmed Tim sadly died this morning [October 24].
A spokesperson said: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to inform you, our dear friend and breakfast host Tim Gough passed away this morning whilst presenting his program.
"Our love to his family, son, sister, brother and mum.
"Tim was doing what he loved. He was 55 years old."
Broadcaster Steph Miskin was once of the first to pay tribute, tweeting: "Tim had so much love for his friends and family. You couldn't meet a nicer man than Tim.
"A beautiful soul who we miss so very much."
One fan wrote: "Tim was one of the kindest people I knew. A real privilege to have called him a good friend for over twenty years. Thoughts with Isaac and family, gone way to soon."
Another paying tribute on social media tweeted: "My deepest sympathies to Tim’s family and friends. It’s a long time since we worked together but I’ll always hold dear our constant banter in the days of Orwell and Saxon. I am so sad to hear of his sudden death. RIP Tim."
Virgin Radio presenter Amy Voce wrote on Twitter: Absolutely gutted to hear this news about Tim. He was my first ever boss in radio at Leicester Sound when I was 18 and was SO wonderful. I have the happiest of memories & we always kept in touch & if it wasn’t for him I might not be in radio… #timgough."
Last year, following the death of DJ Janice Long, Tim took to his Twitter account to share a snap of himself alongside the late broadcaster in 1984, telling his followers: "So sad to learn of the passing of @janicelongdj
"She was a naturally gifted communicator and broadcaster who made her craft look and sound effortless. Ironically I only found this photo the other day of me, aged 17, with Janice outside Radio 1 in 1984."
East Anglian Daily Times reports how Tim is survived by his mother, brother, sister and son.
The late star began his his broadcasting career at Radio Orwell in Ipswich in 1986, before going on to host the breakfast show on Saxon Radio and SGR-FM and enjoy stints on Smooth Radio and other stations in the East Midlands.
Tim was a loyal supporter of his beloved football team Norwich City and enjoyed long walks in the countryside with his Labrador Cooper.
