Virginia head coach Tony Elliott picked up the first signature win of his Cavaliers tenure on Saturday, ending North Carolina’s perfect season in stunning fashion.
Elliott’s team took down the No. 10 Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, winning 31-27 as 23.5-point underdogs for Virginia’s first road victory against an AP top 10 program in school history.
The game-clinching play couldn’t have been any more dramatic, either, with Virginia’s James Jackson intercepting Heisman contender Drake Maye to hand the Tar Heels their first loss of the year.
For the 2-5 Cavaliers, it was a much-deserved moment of extreme joy and that was perfectly captured by the Virginia radio call from John Freeman.

What a moment for Virginia and what a perfect call.
