Rachel Stevens ' ex Jeremy Edwards has backed her to win Dancing On Ice, and says she 'looks great'.
The former S Club 7 star began dating ex-Hollyoaks hunk Jeremy in 2000, and the couple were due to be married after he popped the question on Valentine’s Day in 2002.
But sadly, the couple parted ways just two years later, and insisted they were “great friends” despite splitting.
Rachel, 43, was due to make her debut on the ITV show earlier this month, but after suffering an injury to her wrist, she had to postpone.
She took to the ice over the weekend, and narrowly escaped being sent home by the judges after ending up in the skate-off alongside Ria Hebden.
Jeremy has thrown his support behind the ex-singer, and said he wants her to win.
“I want Rachel to win because she isn’t a trained dancer,” the 50-year-old told new! magazine.
“She was never into skating, not as far as I know. She was, and is, a very talented girl and she looks great,” Jeremy added.
Rachel and her pro skating partner Brendyn Hatfield made their eagerly-awaited debut on Sunday, performing a routine to Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge.
She was cheered on by her daughters Amelie, 11 and Minnie, seven, and husband Alex Bourne, and after her routine, Rachel told host Holly Willoughby she felt emotional dancing with her children watching.
“They've never seen me in real life, performing, dressed-up so its so good to be able to share it with them,” Rachel said.
“It's so good to be here, finally.”
Rachel is now married to her childhood sweetheart Alex Bourne as they rekindled their romance after her split from actor Jeremy.
Rachel previously said she had “bumped into” Alex just after she had sworn off men, and was about to jet off to Los Angeles.
“Then we bumped into each other randomly in our late twenties, and at that point I'd sworn off men, but it was really lovely to see him. But I was going off to LA at the time, so no, but then we reconnected. We obviously had all of that history and now, the rest is history,” she said during an appearance on Loose Women.
