Rabbi Matondo Rangers loan exit to Hannover with transfer option confirmed

Rabbi Matondo has left Rangers to join Hannover on loan.

The Ibrox winger, 24, has agreed a temporary move to the Bundesliga 2 club with the option of a permanent move in the summer.

A move to Coventry City collapsed earlier in the window for Matondo but he has now sealed an exit for Germany.

The winger was recently left out of a Rangers matchday squad against Aberdeen as a "sporting choice".

"Leaving out [Rabbi] was a sporting choice," said Clement at the time. "The two young lads who were on the bench [Lovelace and Rice] are performing for the moment better.

"Oscar would've been on the bench but he had a small problem yesterday evening, not in training. We need to assess that in the next couple of days."

A club statement confirmed: "Rangers can today confirm that Rabbi Matondo has joined German side Hannover 96 on loan, subject to international clearance.

"The winger, who signed for Rangers in the summer of 2022, will spend the remainder of the campaign with the Bundesliga 2 side, with an option to make the move permanent.

"Everyone at Rangers wishes Rabbi all the best for his loan."
