The classic video game turned live-action series will be available to stream July 27 only on Peacock, and is a high-octane, action-packed comedy with a cast of dynamic (read: unhinged) characters. Each half-hour episode takes place in the Divided States of America; a post-apocalyptic wasteland where vultures, a deranged clown, and wicked villains run amok.

In Peacock’s iteration of the fan-favorite video game, viewers will follow a motor-mouthed outsider, John Doe (Anthony Mackie, Inverse’s latest cover star), as he attempts to improve his life. (Read: Embark on a dangerous cross-country trip through a post-apocalyptic wasteland to deliver a questionable package from one walled-up city to another.) With the help of a badass axe-wielding car theif played by Stephanie Beatriz, he’ll face savage marauders and other dangers on the open road. Those dangers just so happen to include Sweet Tooth (a deranged clown played by Joe Seanoa and Will Arnett) and Agent Stone (a vicious highway patrolman played by Thomas Haden Church). Buckle up, people. This one’s going to be a wild ride.
