The Wirral certainly isn't short of gorgeous walks, and I'm extremely lucky to have a few right on my doorstep.
Living near Port Sunlight is magical, and although I don't quite live in the village, that doesn't mean I can't take a stroll through the pretty area and marvel at the very aesthetically pleasing houses. When I first moved to Bebington, I met up with one of my old work colleagues who took me to 'The Dell' - I'd never heard of The Dell before, but I was absolutely amazed as soon as I laid eyes on it.
I'd describe The Dell as a small secluded spot in the middle of Port Sunlight that offers peace and quiet. Surrounded by twittering birds and vibrant flowers in the spring, a walk through The Dell is like walking through a real life Instagram filter - it could be on a postcard.

Even on a dull and dreary day, The Dell looks vibrant and fresh, and is a great spot for dog walkers who fancy something different. Of course, I wouldn't say that Port Sunlight village is filled with 'hustle and bustle' but The Dell certainly provides a great spot to relax and unwind.
Equipped with benches and the adorable Tudor Rose cafe nearby, there's nothing stopping visitors from grabbing a coffee and admiring the nature that surrounds the area. I've taken my dog on a walk through The Dell plenty of times, and always end up staying longer than I wanted to because it's such a lovely little spot.
To get to The Dell, simply walk down Greenbank Road then across the bowling greens. You can also access The Dell past Port Sunlight train station by crossing the road.
Although it's a small area, the hidden gem spot isn't short of Instagram opportunities. It's particularly beautiful this time of year, with an array of bold and bright daffodils and pretty bluebells.
The flowers are all neatly arranged, with 'Dell Bridge' in the centre as a sort of focal point. Dell Bridge is described as a footbridge in Port Sunlight, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
Once you've passed the bridge, you'll come to a handy green area that's perfect for playing with your dog. Most times I've visited The Dell, it's never been too busy, with the odd dog walker passing by on occasion.
That's another thing I love about this spot, it's incredibly quiet, and offers a calming atmosphere after a busy day. I can never visit The Dell without getting photographs on my phone, because it's such a stunning spot.
For as long as I live in Bebington, I'll always choose to take a trip to The Dell when I want some quiet time. It's the perfect spot for something different, and just one of the reasons why I love living on the Wirral.
