An energy saving tip that not all householders know could help you combat the cost-of-living crisis and save you up to €120 per year.
The simple trick involves turning your combi boiler flow temperature down to 60 degrees celsius.
A combi boiler provides hot water and central heating too and is beneficial for its size, efficiency and its ability to provide hot water on demand, as well as lasting from 10 to 15 years.

Many people make the switch from regular boilers to combi boilers to save money.
Flow temperature is the temperature of the water that your boiler sends to the radiators throughout your home.
Reducing flow temperature isn’t the same thing as lowering your thermostat and won’t noticeably reduce the temperature of your home, however it may increase the time it takes to reach the target temperature on your thermostat.
If you are over 65, or have pre-existing health conditions, you may want to set a slightly higher flow temperature of 65°C to ensure your home warms more quickly.
As an added cost saving measure, homeowners can also save over €75 per year turning down radiators in rooms that are not being used. Rooms not being used should have their radiator valves dialed in at 2.5 to 3.
