Question Time: Tense moment Fiona Bruce eye-rolls Mark Reckless in BBC bias row

BBC Question Time host Fiona Bruce got into a heated debate with arch-Brexiteer Mark Reckless over alleged bias at the BBC.

The spat was caused by Reckless, a former UKIP MP, saying that last week's Question Time featured solely remain-voters on its panel.

However, Fiona hit back at his criticism, pointing out that while some of the panelists had voted remain - they were now in favour of leave.

Reckless said: "Many people don't feel the BBC represents them. Last week we had five people on this panel, all five of whom had voted remain."

However, Fiona shot back: "Hang on, we had people who may have voted remain taking the government position and also having changed their minds on Brexit, even if they voted remain originally."

The Welsh Assembly Member replied: "Well a lot of people who voted remain are changing their minds to support Brexit."

However, the BBC presenter reiterated that only one person on last week's Question Time panel was campaigning for remain.

Reckless said: "I think you have political party balance but I think that often leads to an over representation of people who voted remain on the panel, this week we do have two of us who voted leave but that's very unusual."

The debate on last night's show was sparked by a question about whether people over 75 should have to pay a BBC licence fee.

During the spat, Fiona adopted what looked like a steely glare as she seemed to become frustrated at the politician's comments.

At one point she said 'come on' in apparent exasperation at his suggestion that the show was biased.
