Question Time is coming to Newcastle - here’s how you can apply to be in the audience

Question Time is heading to Newcastle next week, giving people in the region the chance to put questions to the panel.

The popular BBC debate show hosted by Fiona Bruce sees guests from the world of politics answer questions posed by members of the public. Audiences are selected based on several factors including age, gender, occupation and voting history.

The show will be airing from Newcastle on Thursday 16 June, with the venue soon to be confirmed. It’s not yet known who will be appearing on the panel, but people living in Newcastle or the surrounding area can apply to be a member of the audience and have the chance to put their questions forward for debate.

The panel typically includes someone representing the UK Government, as well as members from other political parties throughout the series. High-profile journalists, broadcasters, authors and comedians are also a regular fixture on the panel, as well as business leaders and experts from a range of academic fields.

Those interested in being part of the Question Time audience can visit the Audience Application section on the BBC’s website, or call 01299 829299. You will be eligible to apply as long as you are aged 16 or over and haven’t appeared on the show in the past 10 years.

Prospective audience members will be asked a series of questions when they apply, including how they voted in the EU Referendum and which party they would vote for if a General Election took place tomorrow. Members of the audience will each be asked to come up with two questions to be considered for the programme.

The arrival time for the Newcastle show will be between 6 and 6:30pm, with the show wrapping up around 9:15pm. Anyone hoping to be in the audience is encouraged to apply as soon as possible to be in with a chance of participating.
