A man has died from burns suffered in a caravan fire after reportedly trying to protect his pregnant partner in Logan, south of Brisbane.

Police said the 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were found with serious burns when emergency services arrived at the caravan after 11pm on Monday.

The pair were transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition but the man died at midday on Tuesday.

Police said a crime scene had been established at the Wilbur Street caravan site, but preliminary investigations indicated the fire was not suspicious.

Reports claimed the man - identified in the media as Blake Whell - had tried to save his partner from the blaze.

It is believed the woman is 35 weeks pregnant.

Blake Whell's mother Dianne posted a social media tribute on Tuesday.

"My beautiful son Blake Andrew Connor Whell. I'm so lost and numb," she said on Facebook.

"How do I go on with life without you. I love you to moon and back."
