Queensland could see its first frost of the year next week, and it's a chilly weekend ahead, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
BOM forecasts parts of the Darling Downs could see below zero temperatures early next week, but that a cold air mass will send a chill all the way to Townsville.
"Toowoomba is expected to get down to five degrees, looking even cooler as we get into Tuesday morning," BOM spokeswoman Kate Doyle said.
"Down to negative 1 at Dalby down to two degrees in Toowoomba, potentially reaching zero degrees overnight Monday and into Tuesday morning in Warwick."
Ipswich can expect a low of 2 degrees on Tuesday.
It will be marginally warmer in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, but still in the single figures early next week.
Ms Doyle said next week's cold air mass could also bring the first widespread morning frost of the year.
"Monday to Wednesday, we're expecting frosty conditions for really large parts of inland Queensland."
Cold weather boon
Stanthorpe motel operator Michael Jensen said the cold weather was attracting tourists to the Granite Belt.
"The cooler weather is certainly upon us and the bookings are certainly ramping up now coming into our late autumn and now winter not far away.
"This weekend we're fully booked and next week we're fully booked," Mr Jensen said.
He said there was also demand for the weekdays in between, with tourists chasing a winter escape.
"Through autumn beautiful colours that come out with the deciduous trees throughout the district."
