Queen's surprising response after celebrity photographer told her to take tiara OFF

The Queen had a surprising response after a celebrity photographer once told her to take her tiara off.

Iconic American photographer Annie Leibovitz was invited to Buckingham Palace to take photos of Her Majesty in 2007.

Annie was hired to shoot photographs of the Queen at Buckingham Palace along with her 11 assistants, Daily Star reported.

She spent three weeks preparing and making sure everything was correct for the short 30-minute session - but she soon started to find herself on the wrong side of Her Majesty.

The Queen had arrived late to the photoshoot and, according to Annie, she was not in a particularly good mood.

Her Majesty donned the full regalia of the ancient Order of the Garter, along with a tiara for the first portrait.

However, things soon started to escalate when Annie told the Queen something that she didn't quite agree with - before snapping back unimpressed.

It led to the renowned portrait artist ended up getting a mild scolding from the mild-manned and polite head of state.

Annie said to the monarch: "I think it will look better without the crown."

She added: "Could we try without the crown? It will look better… less dressy. Because the garter robe is so."

Cutting her off, the Queen scolded Annie and snapped: "Less dressy?"

Sounding annoyed, she added: "What do you think this is....?"

The video came about during the A Year with the Queen documentary, which was filmed for the BBC in 2007.

It followed the monarchy over a period of one year.

This weekend, the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror celebrate the life of Her Majesty the Queen with a commemorative special filled with all the key moments from Britain’s longest reigning monarch. Be sure to pick up your copy of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror to get both pullouts.
