Queen's Platinum Jubilee plans in full as royal expert says Her Majesty 'can't wait'

We're less than three months away from one of the biggest celebrations the UK has ever seen as the finishing touches are applied to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Her Majesty's big moment is set to be largest event ever held in Britain - with an eye-popping budget of around £15million.

In early June, the four-day Bank Holiday extravaganza will bring the country to a stand-still as everyone raises a glass to the the Monarch, marking 70 years of service to her people.

Fittingly, the milestone will be marked in sensational style - and there's no doubt the Queen needs the special celebration after a very demanding 12 months, one royal experts believes.

Analyst Jonathan Sacerdoti told the Mirrror : "There is very little doubt that she is looking forward to her Platinum Jubilee enormously. Like most of us, I'm sure she can't wait.

"While it certainly doesn't put away the problems she has had over a past year, she will also know that no time is perfect - the Queen is a very pragmatic person.

"I think the most important thing is that she is healthy and can enjoy her celebrations with her family.

"It's hard to believe it's less than three months away, and she will be determined to make the absolute most of it.

"One of the real benefits of the Royal Family is that they give us light in even the darkest moments. What with the pandemic and the on-going conflict in Ukraine, this is one of the toughest periods in living memory.

"It's a great opportunity to celebrate her wonderful service and for the world to come together."

If anyone deserves an incredible celebration to remember, it's the Queen.

In one of her most testing periods ever on the throne, she last year said goodbye to her beloved husband Prince Philip as her son Prince Andrew faced allegations of sexual assault.

She is also still dealing with a family fall out following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's controversial decision to quit the UK and step back from royal duties.

The historic and unprecedented anniversary for the 95-year-old will capture the attention across the globe, and there's so much to look forward to.

It won't be a surprise to learn of Her Majesty's excitement for her Platinum Jubilee this summer.

Buckingham Palace has unveiled the full programme of events and there's not long to wait.

It is not clear which events Her Majesty will attend following orders to rest by doctors last year following her overnight hospital stay - another challenging moment for head of the royal family.

But the world is ready to pay tribute, and the weeks are ticking down.

Celebrations will include her Majesty opening her private estates to the public and some of the world's biggest stars performing outside her iconic headquarters.

It's going to be puddings, parties, parades and pageants, in honour of the jubilee.

There are events popping up over the next few months but the excitement really begins to build on May 12.

A 90-minute show at Windsor Castle really kicks things off in style.

It will taking the audience on a journey through history from Elizabeth I to present day and there will be more than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians taking part.

The first day of the long weekend is on Thursday 2 June and will see Trooping the Colour held in full for the first time since the pandemic.

On Friday June 3, a Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen's reign will be held at St Paul's Cathedral.

Then on the Saturday, the Queen will be joined by other members of the Royal Family at the Derby at Epsom Downs.

There will also be a Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace - and members of the public are invited to join some of the world's biggest music stars to celebrate.

Ed Sheeran, Stevie Wonder and Sir Elton John are said to be being lined up to perform with the hush-hush acts not yet announced.

On the Sunday people across the UK will be invited to sit down together to take part in the Big Jubilee Lunch, with street parties held across the UK.

The Platinum Jubilee Pageant will feature 5,000 people from the UK and the Commonwealth performing around the area of Buckingham Palace.

The Palace promises "pomp and ceremony, street arts, theatre, music, circus, costumes as well as cutting-edge visual technology".

But the party doesn't end there.

In July, three displays marking the Queen's accession to the throne, the coronation and jubilees will be put on at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

There's not long to wait, so what are you waiting for... the British bunting won't put out itself!
