Queen's Park are reportedly fearing the prospect of wealthy backer, Lord Willie Haughey, walking away from the club.
The Daily Record claims the former Celtic director has grown 'increasingly frustrated' by the bureaucracy within the Championship club.
Huaghey has been a major financial supporter of Queen's Park.
His investment allowed them to turn fully professional in 2020, which sparked the Spiders' rise up the SPFL from League One to the second tier, where they have pushed for promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
He also funded the refurbishment of Lesser Hampden - now known as the City Stadium - and ploughed in money to their training ground at Lochinch.
The report states that even if Haughey were to leave, he wouldn't pull his funding immediately.
However, it would spell an end to the club's lucrative spending in the long-term.
Queen's Park face a fight to survive in the Championship this term, with Dunfermline, Hamilton and Airdrieonians all breathing down their neck.
The latter thumped Queen's Park 5-0 at Hampden Park on Wednesday night.
