The Queen's granddaughter Lady Louise Windsor reportedly took a part-time job throughout the summer as she waited for her A-level results.
The 18-year-old is believed to have worked at a garden centre for £6.83 an hour, with shoppers praising her for being "polite and attentive" in her role.
Lady Louise, who lives in a £30million mansion in Bagshot Park, Surrey, with her parents has now earned herself a place at St Andrew's University to study English.
While her grades have not been confirmed, to study English BA at St Andrews, undergraduates must get at least two As and two Bs.
But during her summer as a part-time worker, Lady Louise reportedly spent time working on the tills, greeting and assisting customers and pruning and potting plants.
One customer described her shock at seeing a granddaughter of the Queen at work, saying she served him at a till.
They said: "I couldn’t believe it was Lady Louise — I had to look twice.
"She is a really modest and sweet young woman who is polite and attentive to customers. She seemed to be loving the job.
“You’d never imagine the Queen’s granddaughter would take on a role working behind a till."
Another customer said staff appeared to "adore" her being at the centre, reports The Sun.
Ingrid Stewart, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, said: “Isn’t it wonderful the Queen’s granddaughter rolled her sleeves up and got her hands dirty with a summer job before going to university — just like any other normal teenager.”
It's believed the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex took A-levels in English, History, Politics and Drama.
The Queen’s youngest granddaughter, the oldest child of Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex, will start her degree course in September. The 18-year-old follows in the footsteps of her older cousin Prince William and his wife Kate, who both went to the university in Fife where they first met, with Kate studying history of art, and William geography.
A Palace spokesman said: “Having received her A-level results today, Lady Louise will start at St Andrews University in September to study English.”
The news will no doubt please her mum Sophie, who previously talked about her daughter's education saying that she hoped Louise would go to university - but added she wasn't putting any pressure on her to go.
She said: "I wouldn’t force her, but if she wants to. She’s quite clever."
Louise, who has been dubbed the Queen's favourite grandchild, has largely grown up outside the media spotlight and had been attending a private school in Ascot.
However, she played a public role in her grandmother's Platinum Jubilee celebrations and was also spotted at the Commonwealth Games with her parents and younger brother James several weeks ago.
Last year, Sophie also gave an interview to the BBC, where she talked about how she and her husband are "protective" of Louise but realise she has to be allowed to “live her life”.
