Changes to bin collections on Monday are being made for the Queen's funeral.
From supermarket giants such as Sainsbury's and Aldi to local National Trust sites and museums, many venues across Merseyside will be closing their doors on Monday, September 19 following the announcement that Queen Elizabeth II's funeral will be a bank holiday. Schools will also be closed and there will be changes to some hospital appointments and public transport.
Knowsley Council has since confirmed that due to the bank holiday, there will be a change to the usual bin collection schedule. Residents whose bins are usually collected on Monday are now being asked to put out their bins for collection on Saturday, 17 September instead.

A spokesperson said: "We will endeavour to collect as many bins as possible on the Saturday, but any missed bins should be left out at kerbside and we will return to empty them as soon as possible." More information about Knowsley bin collections can be found by clicking here.
Other councils have also announced changes to their schedules for example, St Helens will not be collecting on the Monday, changing instead to Saturday, September 24. Waste and recycling services for the remainder of the week are unaffected and will continue as usual.
Residents are being urged to check their council website for more information on changes.
