The Queen's 'favourite drink' sold out in supermarkets over the bank holiday weekend.
The state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II took place on Monday September 19 with millions turning in to watch it on TV and social media. Over the last 11 days, thousands queued in Edinburgh and London to pay their respect to the late Queen as she was lying in state.
The state funeral was marked by a public holiday with shops, services and schools closing for the day, but before the supermarkets closed on Monday, it appeared many rushed to stores to pick up an alcoholic beverage favoured by Her Majesty.

As Manchester Evening News reports, a BBC reporter noticed that the drink had been selling out as many looked to make a toast to her life over the bank holiday weekend.
The BBC's Mark Williamson spotted a range of ingredients for the cocktail Dubonnet and gin had completely sold out in a Waitrose on a recent visit. He posted a picture of an empty supermarket shelf, saying: "Dubonnet sold out at Waitrose - sent earlier this evening."
The 'fortified red wine aperitif' was also sold out on Tesco's website earlier this week as well as in House of Malt. DrinkSupermarket.com has also been wiped of the bottles. Dubonnet was known to be the tipple of choice for the late Queen.
The description of the drink on Drink Supermarket describes the drink as: "Made by Joseph Dubonnet to combat malaria for the French army, Dubonnet is the chosen drink for our late Queen Elizabeth II. A sweet wine with bitter notes made from a blend of fortified wine, herbs, spices and Quinine. Perfect for Her Majesty, so drink like a royal."
This drink also sold out during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
