Avon and Somerset police have shared details of how their colleagues in Windsor will be managing crowds of mourners. Thames Valley Police have added additional security methods in Windsor town centre with drones being deployed above crowds
Following the death of HRH Queen Elizabeth on September 8 droves of people from across the world, including Bristol, have flocked to Windsor to pay their respects. In preparation for the committal service, teams from the drone unit are flying high over Windsor and live streaming to pilots on the ground.
This additional security includes officers from the Mounted Section who will also carry out patrols on horses on the lookout for anything suspicious.

Thames Valley Police said: “If you are visiting Windsor to pay your respects or live and work in the area and see or hear something that doesn’t feel right, please speak to one of our officers.
"Our mounted section and drone unit are just some of the many security measures we have in place to ensure the safety of local residents, businesses and visitors to Windsor, during this period of national mourning.
"The horses and live streaming drones will provide a great height advantage that enables them to see into the crowds and to manage large crowds in and around the town."
