Queen's coffin seen for first time as she begins her journey from Balmoral to London

Crowds are lining the streets of Edinburgh as the Queen's coffin begins its journey.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II there are thousands who wish to pay their respects to the late monarch.

The Queen's coffin will depart Balmoral at about 10am, proceeding slowly on the journey to Edinburgh. This will be a six-hour journey from Balmoral to Edinburgh passing through Aberdeen and Dundee on the way.

It will arrive at the official residence of the British monarch in the Scottish capital, the palace of Holyroodhouse. Once there is will lie in the Throne Room

Meanwhile in London, the King will meet with the secretary general of the commonwealth at Buckingham Palace and later host in the palace's Bow Room the high commissioners from the countries of which he is head of state.
