The Queen's beautiful and poignant thoughts on the purpose of life have been shared in an old clip that has resurfaced following the death of the monarch in Balmoral on Thursday. The video has been shared again as the nation enters a period of national mourning that will last for seven days after the state funeral.
Comedian Omid Djalili, who took part in the jubilee celebrations this year, shared the clip which includes part of the Queen's address to the Commonwealth in 2011. He said: "It's up there with anything I’ve ever heard", reports MyLondon.
Quoting an Aboriginal proverb in the speech, the Queen said: "We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home.”
The video also includes footage taken from personal family moments in the life of the Queen.
The statement was part of an address at the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
