Ruari Paton wants to crash Dunfermline’s title party this weekend.
The Pars can win League One with a victory over the Doonhamers, who are themselves looking to go seven unbeaten.
The division’s top goalscorer said: “The last time we went to Dunfermline we played well. We played our stuff and didn’t get intimidated. I absolutely love playing there. It’s a great pitch, they can win the league and we’re going to have to impose ourselves on the game.
“They’re a good team that is well drilled and we will go there with no fear.
”We’re on a run because we’ve been doing basic things right.
“We’ve been defending well and been able to get goals. It’s really not rocket science.”
Paton’s brace to beat Alloa last Saturday took his tally to 22 goals for the campaign and kept the Palmerston club’s winning streak going to four games.
He said the play-off push is what “makes you feel alive”.
He said: “I thought we really needed to get a win for any hope of the play-offs.
“We’ve got big games coming up so the win was really important to close the gap.
“There have been a few times this season where we haven’t taken our chance to cut the gap but we did on Saturday so I’m very happy. The play-offs are doable.
“It’s close now and it’s going to go down to the wire and that’s good it makes it exciting.
“That’s what football is all about. The next few games are really important and every point is going to count.”
The Irishman opened up on him “putting his heart and soul” into this campaign as he hit his goal target.
He added: “The hat-trick is eluding me. I had a chance for a third in the first half but does that matter? Not really, I’m sure I’ll get hat-tricks in my career.
“It’s more important that the team won than me scoring a hat-trick but it’s two goals for my tally and it’s on to the next now and then the next game after that.
“The first goal with the keeper hitting it off me – I don’t believe that’s a mistake. People don’t see what I do behind the scenes. I do more than everyone and I make sure I do it because if you believe in the universe it gives back to you and you get lucky. So long may it continue.”
