Queen will add a kind of magic to the Platinum Party at the Palace concert celebrating their namesake’s Jubilee.
And Queen of Soul Diana Ross will close the Buckingham Palace bash on June 4.
The Queen line-up of Brian May, 74, Roger Taylor, 72, and Adam Lambert, 40, will open the concert to mark Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne.
Guitarist Brian performed God Save The Queen on the Buckingham Palace roof at the Queen’s Golden Jubilee concert in 2002.
He said: “Twenty years after playing The Queen’s glorious Golden Jubilee we’re very happy to be invited again. Then there was a moment when I wondered … after Buckingham Palace roof where can you go? Well … you will see.”
It will be 78-year-old Diana’s first UK live performance in 15 years. She said: “I was absolutely delighted to receive an invitation to perform on such a momentous and historic occasion.”
Eurovision star Sam Ryder Alicia Keys, Andrea Bocelli, Elbow and George Ezra are also in the line-up, while Sir David Attenborough, David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Julie Andrews, and swimmer Ellie Simmonds will all make appearances.
More than 7,500 tickets will go to key workers, the Armed Forces and charities, with a further 10,000 of the 22,000 total allocated by ballot.
Research shows 63% of us will party at the Jubilee weekend, when 2,800 beacons will be lit up across the globe.
