The Queen of Moore Street Carmel Mooney was remembered as a "lovely, friendly lady" as she took her last journey through the market with her funeral cortege.
Ms Mooney died on Tuesday surrounded by her family in the Mater Hospital. The 84-year-old grew up in Hentrietta House and was the third generation of family traders on Moore Street, taking up the reins after her mother and grandmother.
Her funeral took place at 10:30am this morning at Saint Peter’s Church, Phibsboro. Stephen Troy, from Troy Family Butchers on Moore Street, said Ms Mooney "brought a lot of charm, wit and a warm Dublin welcome to the street".

One mourner told Dublin Live: "My tribute to Carmel Mooney is that she was a lovely lady, a pleasure to work beside and she'll be dearly missed from Moore Street."
