Queen 'not comfortable passing the crown to Charles until family at peace'

A royal expert is claiming the Queen will struggle to hand over her crown and the responsibilities that go with it until things settle down with her family.

Kinsey Schofield, a royal commentator and founder of the To Di For Daily blog and podcast, has been speaking about the difficulty the monarch faces.

In an exclusive chat with the Daily Star, she claimed Her Majesty "won't feel comfortable passing the crown" until the Firm has stopped "dodging PR land mines".

She told the Daily Star : "She is the longest reigning monarch and I know she won’t feel comfortable passing the crown, passing that responsibility on to Charles, until she feels like things are in order, peaceful, and the royal family isn’t dodging PR land mines.

"She wants the monarchy to survive and the family is so much stronger united vs. divided."

Kinsey also paid homage to Queen Elizabeth's legacy, stating it "will be one of grace, strength, and steadiness" in the lead up to her birthday on April 21.

"She has been such a reliable force for so long," Kinsey said.

"She had the rare opportunity to marry her first true love, they complimented each other (personality wise) and made each other laugh until Prince Philip’s dying day.

"Her work ethic is incredible, her patience unwavering."

Harry and Meghan Markle took a private jet to the UK so they could have a secret face-to-face meeting with the Queen last week after snubbing Prince Philip's memorial service last month.

Kinsey told the Daily Star that their visit "was an especially delightful birthday gift for Queen Elizabeth."

The royal commentator is the author of “R is for Revenge Dress” which will be published by Post Hill Press and Simon & Schuster on November 15 this year.

The Palace has been contacted for comment.
