Queen Elizabeth II's surprise Platinum Jubilee Pageant appearance leaves fans in tears

Queen Elizabeth II's appearance at the Platinum Jubilee Pageant left viewers in tears.

The procession today brought an end to the celebrations to mark Her Majesty's 70 years on the throne. The parade was led by The Queen's Gold State Coach and toured some of the most iconic streets in Westminster.

Her Majesty has been unable to attend any of the celebrations since Thursday's Trooping the Colour after she experienced "some discomfort". It had not been confirmed whether she would make an appearance today, but fans were thrilled when the royal standard was raised above Buckingham Palace.

The Queen appeared emotional as the national anthem played and she surveyed the crowd on the mall before her.
