A number of major Edinburgh roads have now closed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The City of Edinburgh Council have warned locals to expect 'significant disruption' in the coming days, as the body of the monarch is moved to the capital following her death on Thursday.
Buckingham Palace had issued a statement on September 8, which stated that the Queen passed away at the Balmoral Estate. Due to her passing being in Scotland, Operation Unicorn is now underway, which will see the 96-year-old moved to Edinburgh in the coming days, before heading down to London.

Expected to be taken to Holyrood Palace before moving to St Giles Cathedral, the council has closed a series of city centre roads to allow operations to be carried out.
Speaking on Friday morning, officials shared a list of roads that will now be entirely shut off, including the High Street at Cockburn Street and George IV Bridge.

The council also stated that "further closures are expected in the coming days."
