Queen Camilla, 77, will be absent from her third public engagement in two weeks as she continues to recover from a chest infection, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday. The Queen was scheduled to attend the annual Royal Variety performance alongside her husband, King Charles III, but her doctors advised her to prioritize rest and not overexert herself.
The palace stated, 'Following a recent chest infection, the Queen continues to experience some lingering post-viral symptoms. Doctors have recommended that, after a busy week of engagements, Her Majesty should focus on sufficient rest.' Consequently, Queen Camilla has regretfully withdrawn from attending the Royal Variety Performance, while King Charles III will be present as planned.
Queen Camilla had previously missed two events earlier this month that commemorated Britain's war dead, including the significant Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph war memorial in central London, which holds great importance for the royal family.
Both King Charles III and his daughter-in-law Kate, the Princess of Wales, attended the Remembrance Sunday ceremony in Queen Camilla's absence. This comes as both royals have undergone treatment for cancer earlier this year, highlighting the challenges faced by the royal family amidst health concerns.
