Queen Camilla laughs as cheeky teen hands her Burger King crown for 'last-minute' gift

Queen Camilla seemed slightly taken aback when she was handed a paper Burger King crown during a walkabout in Colchester in Essex.

Camilla, who will be crowned alongside husband King Charles III during his Coronation on May 6, was greeting royal fans on Monday, May 7, when well-wishers started handing her gifts and flowers.

In a video from the royal visit that has since gone viral, a cheeky teenager can be seen handing Camilla a Burger King Crown.

The royal can be seen stopping in front of the teen with her pal when she is presented with a cardboard green crown.

Off camera, the girl can be heard saying "it was a last-minute gift", after which the 75-year-old awkwardly smiles, laughs and says: "Oh, lovely, that's very kind of you. Burger King."

The good-humoured royal, who was standing near a McDonald's, then moved further down the line with her cardboard crown and red roses in hand to greet the rest of the adorning crowd.

The teen who had handed the crown to Camilla said: "I saw her take it into the car, proudest moment of my life."

The video quickly went viral online, with many TikTok users sharing their amusement for the video.

One person commented: "Say what you want, she's a good sport," while another added: "She genuinely found it funny. She's got a good sense of humour."

A third said: "Such a lovely woman."

The couple didn't acknowledge a group of anti-monarchy protesters who stood near Colchester Castle. The crowd had yellow placards with "not my King" written on them.

Camilla has been married to Charles since 2005 and was known as the Duchess of Cornwall until Queen Elizabeth II's sad death in September last year.

She then became Queen Consort when Charles ascended to the throne, fulfilling a wish Queen Elizabeth expressed before her death.
