Former royal butler Paul Burrell says he has a new princess now - in the form of soap star Helen Flanagan.
The 64-year-old was Princess Diana's butler for 10 years up until her death in 1997.
But after filming the new I'm A Celebrity South Africa series, he has dubbed a new friend from Coronation Street as his new princess.
Spilling secrets about the show which starts on Monday, Burrell said: "Helen was my princess, Helen is Princess Jasmine to me, even in my phone now she's Princess Jasmine because she's so lovely and sweet. And you wouldn't think she had three children.
"Every day she'd wear a different coloured bikini with lots of jewels stuck to it. And I said to her, 'you know, you look like Princess Jasmine from Aladdin'."
Burrell also revealed the contestants will enter the camp in small groups and told how he struck up an unlikely friendship with Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder after sharing lots of royal anecdotes round the campfire.
He recalled: "Shaun was so funny, Shaun said ‘Paul it is incredible. I can't believe the things you've done.’
"And he said ‘I’m Uncle Fester and you’re Buzz Lightyear, you live on a different planet to me.
He was lovely. I didn't expect Shaun to be as lovely as he was. Because I didn't really know very much about him.
"And so I got chatting with him and found out about his condition and his hair falling out and he’s got no eyelashes. He’s got no hair at all.
"Janice, Shaun and I, we went in together, we had to paddle on a raft down a river. It's like a crazy Tom Sawyer adventure. And there's this elegant woman standing on the bank, completely covered in Chanel. And I said ‘you're gonna get that spoiled. You know, those shoes are at least 1000 pounds. You gotta take them off girl, because you're gonna get them spoiled’
"Shaun never told me whether he was a fan of the Royal family. He listened to all my stories like wow.
And he said we're going to keep in touch and we have exchanged messages since that but you're right, the most unlikely pair of people. Me and Shaun Ryder, completely different spectrums.
"And I said to him, that's what the jungle is about. For me, Shaun, it's about throwing us all together and in a bag and shaking us all up and seeing what comes out."
Burrell was runner-up behind comedian Joe Pasquale on the regular version of the show when he appeared in Australia in 2004.
He was terrible at the trials back then and next week promises similar scenes of him screaming and pulling faces which had the show hosts Ant and Dec in hysterics.
Burrell admitted: "I'm still rubbish at trials. Every time I went to the jungle clearing to do a trial I thought there's gonna be a snake, it is gonna be a snake.
"Ant and Dec, they're grinning, they are like spawns of the devil those two! They just stand there grinning at your misfortune. And you know that you're gonna come a cropper and they know what everybody's weaknesses are. And every time I appeared for a trial, they'd say to me, you might find something familiar about it. You won't be there alone. Really I should not be surprised!"
Whilst he might fail some trials, Burell says he hit the gym before going into camp so he could take on challenges and at least look good on screen.
"I was the second oldest in the jungle. Janice was just a tiny bit older than me," he said.
"And I thought, I'm not going to have the energy that I had last time. So I went to the gym. I have to tell you, I did train for this because I knew what was ahead of me. So I got my personal trainer to put me through the ordeal of survival in the gym. And he did a great job which you will see.
"I'm very proud of being a 64-year-old man and able to take my shirt off in the middle of a jungle clearing next to Amir Khan. Just wait and see."
The series was filmed last September and during this time Queen Elizabeth died at the age of 96, and contestants were told but Burrell opted to stay in the competition so he could "share his grief" with his co-stars.
He added: "I loved the Queen, she was a wonderful, wonderful lady. She shaped me, along with Diana and they made me the man I am today. Whilst I was in South Africa, the ITV team asked me if I wanted to go home.
"I said 'Listen, I'm better here. This is my sanctuary right now. If I go home, it'll be a circus. So let me stay here with the other celebrities and I'll share my grief with them because she was their Queen too."
Since his last appearance on I'm A Celebrity in 2004, when he was married to wife Maria with two children, his life has changed dramatically. He is now openly gay and remarried to partner Graham Cooper.
He said: "I'm still a dad of two fine young men. I'm a proud husband, to my husband and a bigger person than I was before.
I'm happy in my own skin and I think the jungles helped me develop that, the programme itself and the people in it have helped me become the man I am today."
Asked when he thought Princess Diana would make of him doing I'm A Celebrity, he added:
"I think she'd see that I've developed and blossomed into a completely different person, whom I hope she'll be proud of and hope that she's looking down with our dear late queen and having a giggle."
The pre-show medical for the series also was responsible for spotting abnormalities in his PSA levels which meant he was diagnosed with prostate cancer shortly after returning home from South Africa.
"They caught it very early only because ITV sent me for a full examination. And I shall always be grateful for the jungle because it helped save my life," he said.
*I’m A Celebrity…South Africa begins on Monday (April 24) at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
