Quaint Nottinghamshire tea room with secret garden goes up for sale

A quaint village tea room with a 'secret' garden across the road has gone up for sale. Bumbles Tea Room is loved by locals in Epperstone for its breakfasts, lunches and cakes. It has been run by the present owner "in a limited capacity" for just over a year but due to other work commitments they've decided to sell the business in Main Street.

Listed on Rightmove, the asking price is £65,000 and it is described as a "very rare and exciting opportunity". The only cafe in the village - once an interiors shop - it has 16 seats inside plus a 'secret' garden over the road with picnic benches for customers to use.

Visitors praised the food and service. One man said it was "possibly the best brownie I have ever eaten." Another said: "Great place to have a break, bacon sandwich was great and a proper pot of tea, there is also a little secret garden space to sit outside. Very good value for money too."

The listing says there is huge potential to grow the business. "Bumbles Tea Room currently serves a range of breakfast options and lunches along with cakes and pastries, afternoon tea and coffee along with some locally sourced convenience essentials. The food offering could be extended further with an option for opening as a bistro in the evenings which the premise could easily accommodate.

"The business has undergone major refurbishment over the past few years and has been finished to a very high standard creating a very pleasant trading environment which complements the current business model as well as offering the new owner options to tweak things further putting their own spin on the business.

"The main trading area is across one level with 16 internal covers with additional external covers located across the road from the business in a dedicated picnic area. Very rarely do businesses of this calibre come to the open market."
