CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Xavier Simoneau extended his point streak to 14 games, tallying a goal and two assists as the Charlottetown Islanders crushed the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 8-1 in the QMJHL on Sunday.
Patrick Guay and Brett Budgell scored two goals and an assist apiece. The victory was the sixth straight for the league-leading Islanders (24-7-2-0).
Chicoutimi's (14-13-1-4) lone goal came from centre William Rouleau, just 31 seconds into the second period, tying the game up at 1-1.
After that Sagueneens goal, Charlottetown exploded for seven unanswered.
Islanders defenceman Oscar Plandowski scored the game-winner at the 3:11 mark of the second period en route to a plus-5 night.
Chicoutimi goalie Sergei Litvinov got bombarded by 45 shots. He managed to save 37 of them.

QUEBEC CITY -- Victoriaville (13-14-3-2) got a pair of goals from Samuel Desgroseilliers, including the game-winner 3:30 into overtime. Quebec (22-9-1-0) outshot the visitors 47-18 but the Tigres got a big performance from goalie Nathan Darveau, who made 46 saves. The loss snapped the Remparts' seven-game win streak.

MONCTON, N.B. -- Thomas Auger scored 1:53 into overtime as Moncton (17-10-3-1) edged Blainville-Boisbriand (15-14-3-1). Wildcats right-winger Brooklyn Kalmikov scored his second of the game with 33 seconds left in the third period to force overtime.
