Qld woman dragged by hair and tied up

Police are searching for two men following a violent home invasion in Sheldon, south of Brisbane. (AAP)

A woman was knocked unconscious, dragged by the hair and tied to furniture using cable ties during a "cowardly" robbery at a home south of Brisbane.

Two men broke into the acreage property in Sheldon through the front door about midday on Wednesday, police say.

The woman, 49, was home alone when she heard noises and found a man in her kitchen.

The robber saw the woman, chased her down the hallway and cornered her in a bathroom as she tried to escape.

The man punched her until she blacked out then dragged her by her hair to the lounge room, police say.

"She was then tied up with cable ties around her hand and she was secured to a piece of furniture in the lounge room," Detective Inspector Stephen Hollands told reporters on Thursday.

"The offender took her mobile phone away and put that outside of the house before the woman was further assaulted."

The robbers searched the residence and left about half an hour later, leaving the woman tied up.

She was freed two hours later when her adult children arrived home.

The woman was taken to the Redland Hospital and remains traumatised by the robbery.

"She was distressed and she was suffering from bruising, soreness and cuts, and she was released in the early hours of this morning," Det Insp Hollands said.

"This is the most cowardly type of offensive we can investigate ... an innocent lady, going about her business in her own home and we have persons breaking into her home and assaulting her in the house."

It was not known what property was taken, and police say it was not targeted attack.

Detectives want to talk to anyone with dashcam video who was travelling on Mount Cotton Road between Lyndon and Greenfield roads between 11am and 3pm.
